How To Uninstall elilo On Debian 8

To uninstall elilo just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just elilo

Bootloader for systems using EFI-based firmwareDebian 8.0admin3.14-3
sudo apt-get remove elilo

This will remove just the elilo package itself.

Uninstall elilo and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove elilo

This will remove the elilo package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for elilo then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge elilo

Or similarly, like this elilo

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove elilo
