How To Uninstall mercurial-server on jessie

To uninstall mercurial-server just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just mercurial-server

shared Mercurial repository service Debian 8.0 devel 1.2-2

sudo apt-get remove mercurial-server

Which will remove just the mercurial-server package itself.

Uninstall mercurial-server and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove mercurial-server

This will remove the mercurial-server package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for mercurial-server then this will work.

  Caution!   Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge mercurial-server  

Or similarly, like this mercurial-server

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove mercurial-server
