How To Uninstall mplayer2-dbg on jessie

To uninstall mplayer2-dbg just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just mplayer2-dbg

Debugging symbols for mplayer2 Debian 8.0 debug 2.0-728-g2c378c7-4+b1

sudo apt-get remove mplayer2-dbg

Which will remove just the mplayer2-dbg package itself.

Uninstall mplayer2-dbg and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove mplayer2-dbg

This will remove the mplayer2-dbg package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for mplayer2-dbg then this will work.

  Caution!   Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge mplayer2-dbg  

Or similarly, like this mplayer2-dbg

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove mplayer2-dbg
