How To Uninstall samba-dbg On Debian 8

To uninstall samba-dbg just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just samba-dbg

Samba debugging symbolsDebian 8.0debug2:4.2.14+dfsg-0+deb8u5
sudo apt-get remove samba-dbg

This will remove just the samba-dbg package itself.

Uninstall samba-dbg and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove samba-dbg

This will remove the samba-dbg package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for samba-dbg then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge samba-dbg

Or similarly, like this samba-dbg

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove samba-dbg
