How To Uninstall samba On Debian 8

To uninstall samba just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just samba

SMB/CIFS file, print, and login server for UnixDebian 8.0net2:4.2.14+dfsg-0+deb8u5
sudo apt-get remove samba

This will remove just the samba package itself.

Uninstall samba and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove samba

This will remove the samba package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for samba then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge samba

Or similarly, like this samba

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove samba
