How To Uninstall smbclient On Debian 8

To uninstall smbclient just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just smbclient

command-line SMB/CIFS clients for UnixDebian 8.0net2:4.2.14+dfsg-0+deb8u5
sudo apt-get remove smbclient

This will remove just the smbclient package itself.

Uninstall smbclient and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove smbclient

This will remove the smbclient package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for smbclient then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge smbclient

Or similarly, like this smbclient

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove smbclient
