How To Uninstall vlc-plugin-pulse On Debian 8

To uninstall vlc-plugin-pulse just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just vlc-plugin-pulse

transitional dummy package for vlcDebian 8.0video2.2.5-1~deb8u1
sudo apt-get remove vlc-plugin-pulse

This will remove just the vlc-plugin-pulse package itself.

Uninstall vlc-plugin-pulse and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove vlc-plugin-pulse

This will remove the vlc-plugin-pulse package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for vlc-plugin-pulse then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge vlc-plugin-pulse

Or similarly, like this vlc-plugin-pulse

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove vlc-plugin-pulse
