How To Uninstall alpine On Debian 9

To uninstall alpine just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just alpine

Text-based email client, friendly for novices but powerfulDebian 9.0mail2.20+dfsg1-7
sudo apt-get remove alpine

This will remove just the alpine package itself.

Uninstall alpine and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove alpine

This will remove the alpine package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for alpine then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge alpine

Or similarly, like this alpine

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove alpine
