How To Uninstall alsa-oss On Debian 9

To uninstall alsa-oss just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just alsa-oss

ALSA wrapper for OSS applicationsDebian 9.0sound1.0.28-1
sudo apt-get remove alsa-oss

This will remove just the alsa-oss package itself.

Uninstall alsa-oss and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove alsa-oss

This will remove the alsa-oss package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for alsa-oss then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge alsa-oss

Or similarly, like this alsa-oss

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove alsa-oss
