How To Uninstall astro-java on stretch

To uninstall astro-java just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just astro-java

Java packages for astronomy Debian 9.0 metapackages 1.0

sudo apt-get remove astro-java

Which will remove just the astro-java package itself.

Uninstall astro-java and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove astro-java

This will remove the astro-java package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for astro-java then this will work.

  Caution!   Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge astro-java  

Or similarly, like this astro-java

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove astro-java
