How To Uninstall aview on stretch

To uninstall aview just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just aview

A high quality ASCII art image viewer and video player Debian 9.0 video 1.3.0rc1-9+b2

sudo apt-get remove aview

Which will remove just the aview package itself.

Uninstall aview and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove aview

This will remove the aview package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for aview then this will work.

  Caution!   Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge aview  

Or similarly, like this aview

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove aview
