To uninstall ferret-datasets just follow these instructions.
/debian/stretch/main///install/index.html Datasets for use with Ferret Visualisation and analysis suite Debian 9.0 utils 7.0-2
sudo apt-get remove ferret-datasets
Which will remove just the ferret-datasets package itself.
sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove ferret-datasets
This will remove the ferret-datasets package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.
If you also want to delete your local/config files for ferret-datasets then this will work.
sudo apt-get purge ferret-datasets
Or similarly, like this ferret-datasets
sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove ferret-datasets
