How To Uninstall ferret-datasets on stretch

To uninstall ferret-datasets just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just ferret-datasets

Datasets for use with Ferret Visualisation and analysis suite Debian 9.0 utils 7.0-2

sudo apt-get remove ferret-datasets

Which will remove just the ferret-datasets package itself.

Uninstall ferret-datasets and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove ferret-datasets

This will remove the ferret-datasets package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for ferret-datasets then this will work.

  Caution!   Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge ferret-datasets  

Or similarly, like this ferret-datasets

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove ferret-datasets
