How To Uninstall fonts-beng on stretch

To uninstall fonts-beng just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just fonts-beng

Metapackage to install Bengali and Assamese fonts Debian 9.0 fonts 2:1.2

sudo apt-get remove fonts-beng

Which will remove just the fonts-beng package itself.

Uninstall fonts-beng and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove fonts-beng

This will remove the fonts-beng package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for fonts-beng then this will work.

  Caution!   Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge fonts-beng  

Or similarly, like this fonts-beng

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove fonts-beng
