How To Uninstall fonts-deva on stretch

To uninstall fonts-deva just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just fonts-deva

Meta package to install all Devanagari fonts Debian 9.0 fonts 2:1.2

sudo apt-get remove fonts-deva

Which will remove just the fonts-deva package itself.

Uninstall fonts-deva and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove fonts-deva

This will remove the fonts-deva package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for fonts-deva then this will work.

  Caution!   Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge fonts-deva  

Or similarly, like this fonts-deva

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove fonts-deva
