How To Uninstall vmfs-tools On Debian 9

To uninstall vmfs-tools just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just vmfs-tools

Tools to access VMFS filesystemsDebian 9.0otherosfs0.2.5-1+b2
sudo apt-get remove vmfs-tools

This will remove just the vmfs-tools package itself.

Uninstall vmfs-tools and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove vmfs-tools

This will remove the vmfs-tools package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for vmfs-tools then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge vmfs-tools

Or similarly, like this vmfs-tools

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove vmfs-tools
