How To Uninstall xnest on stretch

To uninstall xnest just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just xnest

Nested X server Debian 9.0 x11 2:1.19.2-1

sudo apt-get remove xnest

Which will remove just the xnest package itself.

Uninstall xnest and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove xnest

This will remove the xnest package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for xnest then this will work.

  Caution!   Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge xnest  

Or similarly, like this xnest

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove xnest
