How To Uninstall libdw1 on wheezy

To uninstall libdw1 just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just libdw1

library that provides access to the DWARF debug information Debian 7.0 libs 0.152-1+wheezy1

sudo apt-get remove libdw1

Which will remove just the libdw1 package itself.

Uninstall libdw1 and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libdw1

This will remove the libdw1 package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for libdw1 then this will work.

  Caution!   Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge libdw1  

Or similarly, like this libdw1

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libdw1
