How To Uninstall libgeoip1 on wheezy

To uninstall libgeoip1 just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just libgeoip1

non-DNS IP-to-country resolver library Debian 7.0 libs 1.4.8+dfsg-3

sudo apt-get remove libgeoip1

Which will remove just the libgeoip1 package itself.

Uninstall libgeoip1 and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libgeoip1

This will remove the libgeoip1 package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for libgeoip1 then this will work.

  Caution!   Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge libgeoip1  

Or similarly, like this libgeoip1

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libgeoip1
