How To Uninstall rake On Debian 7

To uninstall rake just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just rake

ruby make-like utilityDebian 7.0ruby0.9.2.2-4
sudo apt-get remove rake

This will remove just the rake package itself.

Uninstall rake and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove rake

This will remove the rake package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for rake then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge rake

Or similarly, like this rake

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove rake
