How To Uninstall tau on wheezy

To uninstall tau just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just tau

Tuning and Analysis Utilities - base profiling toolkit Debian 7.0 devel 2.16.4-1.4+b1

sudo apt-get remove tau

Which will remove just the tau package itself.

Uninstall tau and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove tau

This will remove the tau package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for tau then this will work.

  Caution!   Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge tau  

Or similarly, like this tau

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove tau
