How To Uninstall tcl8.4-dev on wheezy

To uninstall tcl8.4-dev just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just tcl8.4-dev

Tcl (the Tool Command Language) v8.4 - development files Debian 7.0 devel 8.4.19-5

sudo apt-get remove tcl8.4-dev

Which will remove just the tcl8.4-dev package itself.

Uninstall tcl8.4-dev and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove tcl8.4-dev

This will remove the tcl8.4-dev package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for tcl8.4-dev then this will work.

  Caution!   Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge tcl8.4-dev  

Or similarly, like this tcl8.4-dev

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove tcl8.4-dev
