How To Uninstall tcl8.4 on wheezy

To uninstall tcl8.4 just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just tcl8.4

Tcl (the Tool Command Language) v8.4 - run-time files Debian 7.0 interpreters 8.4.19-5

sudo apt-get remove tcl8.4

Which will remove just the tcl8.4 package itself.

Uninstall tcl8.4 and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove tcl8.4

This will remove the tcl8.4 package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for tcl8.4 then this will work.

  Caution!   Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge tcl8.4  

Or similarly, like this tcl8.4

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove tcl8.4
