How To Uninstall telnet-ssl on wheezy

To uninstall telnet-ssl just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just telnet-ssl

telnet client with SSL encryption support Debian 7.0 net 0.17.24+0.1-23

sudo apt-get remove telnet-ssl

Which will remove just the telnet-ssl package itself.

Uninstall telnet-ssl and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove telnet-ssl

This will remove the telnet-ssl package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for telnet-ssl then this will work.

  Caution!   Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge telnet-ssl  

Or similarly, like this telnet-ssl

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove telnet-ssl
