How To Uninstall tk on wheezy

To uninstall tk just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just tk

The Tk toolkit for Tcl and X11 (default version) - run-time files Debian 7.0 interpreters 8.5.0-2.1

sudo apt-get remove tk

Which will remove just the tk package itself.

Uninstall tk and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove tk

This will remove the tk package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for tk then this will work.

  Caution!   Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge tk  

Or similarly, like this tk

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove tk
