How To Uninstall tk8.4 on wheezy

To uninstall tk8.4 just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just tk8.4

Tk toolkit for Tcl and X11, v8.4 - run-time files Debian 7.0 interpreters 8.4.19-5

sudo apt-get remove tk8.4

Which will remove just the tk8.4 package itself.

Uninstall tk8.4 and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove tk8.4

This will remove the tk8.4 package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for tk8.4 then this will work.

  Caution!   Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge tk8.4  

Or similarly, like this tk8.4

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove tk8.4
