How To Uninstall tomcat6-examples on wheezy

To uninstall tomcat6-examples just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just tomcat6-examples

Servlet and JSP engine -- example web applications Debian 7.0 java 6.0.45+dfsg-1~deb7u1

sudo apt-get remove tomcat6-examples

Which will remove just the tomcat6-examples package itself.

Uninstall tomcat6-examples and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove tomcat6-examples

This will remove the tomcat6-examples package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for tomcat6-examples then this will work.

  Caution!   Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge tomcat6-examples  

Or similarly, like this tomcat6-examples

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove tomcat6-examples
