How To Uninstall tor on wheezy

To uninstall tor just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just tor

anonymizing overlay network for TCP Debian 7.0 net 0.2.4.27-1

sudo apt-get remove tor

Which will remove just the tor package itself.

Uninstall tor and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove tor

This will remove the tor package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for tor then this will work.

  Caution!   Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge tor  

Or similarly, like this tor

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove tor
