How To Uninstall tracker on wheezy

To uninstall tracker just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just tracker

metadata database, indexer and search tool Debian 7.0 utils 0.14.1-3

sudo apt-get remove tracker

Which will remove just the tracker package itself.

Uninstall tracker and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove tracker

This will remove the tracker package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for tracker then this will work.

  Caution!   Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge tracker  

Or similarly, like this tracker

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove tracker
