How To Uninstall translate on wheezy

To uninstall translate just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just translate

translates words from English into German or viceversa Debian 7.0 text 0.6-11

sudo apt-get remove translate

Which will remove just the translate package itself.

Uninstall translate and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove translate

This will remove the translate package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for translate then this will work.

  Caution!   Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge translate  

Or similarly, like this translate

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove translate
