How To Uninstall tzdata on wheezy

To uninstall tzdata just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just tzdata

time zone and daylight-saving time data Debian 7.0 localization 2016d-0+deb7u1

sudo apt-get remove tzdata

Which will remove just the tzdata package itself.

Uninstall tzdata and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove tzdata

This will remove the tzdata package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for tzdata then this will work.

  Caution!   Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge tzdata  

Or similarly, like this tzdata

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove tzdata
