How To Uninstall update-manager-gnome On Debian 7

To uninstall update-manager-gnome just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just update-manager-gnome

GNOME application that manages software updatesDebian 7.0gnome0.200.5-2.1
sudo apt-get remove update-manager-gnome

This will remove just the update-manager-gnome package itself.

Uninstall update-manager-gnome and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove update-manager-gnome

This will remove the update-manager-gnome package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for update-manager-gnome then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge update-manager-gnome

Or similarly, like this update-manager-gnome

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove update-manager-gnome
