How To Uninstall xawtv On Kali Linux 2017.1
To uninstall xawtv just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just xawtv

This will remove just the xawtv package itself.
Uninstall xawtv and its dependencies
sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove xawtv
This will remove the xawtv package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.
Purging your config/data too
If you also want to delete your local/config files for xawtv then this will work.
Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge xawtv
Or similarly, like this xawtv
sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove xawtv
