How To Uninstall libastro1 On Linux Mint 17.2

To uninstall libastro1 just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just libastro1

Marble astronomy library applications. The Marble widget shows the earth as a sphere but does not require hardware acceleration. A minimal set of geographical data is included, so it can be used without an internet connection.Linux Mint 17.2libs4:4.14.2-0ubuntu1~ubuntu14.04~ppa1
sudo apt-get remove libastro1

This will remove just the libastro1 package itself.

Uninstall libastro1 and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libastro1

This will remove the libastro1 package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for libastro1 then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge libastro1

Or similarly, like this libastro1

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libastro1
