How To Uninstall atril-common On Linux Mint 17.3
To uninstall atril-common just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just atril-common

This will remove just the atril-common package itself.
Uninstall atril-common and its dependencies
sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove atril-common
This will remove the atril-common package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.
Purging your config/data too
If you also want to delete your local/config files for atril-common then this will work.
Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge atril-common
Or similarly, like this atril-common
sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove atril-common
