How To Uninstall mint-x-icons On Linux Mint 18
To uninstall mint-x-icons just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just mint-x-icons

This will remove just the mint-x-icons package itself.
Uninstall mint-x-icons and its dependencies
sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove mint-x-icons
This will remove the mint-x-icons package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.
Purging your config/data too
If you also want to delete your local/config files for mint-x-icons then this will work.
Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge mint-x-icons
Or similarly, like this mint-x-icons
sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove mint-x-icons
