How To Uninstall grub-common On Linux Mint 18.2

To uninstall grub-common just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just grub-common

GRand Unified Bootloader (common files) It is shared between GRUB Legacy and GRUB 2, although a number of files specific to GRUB 2 are here as long as they do not break GRUB Legacy.Linux Mint 18.2admin2.02~beta2-36ubuntu3.9+linuxmint1
sudo apt-get remove grub-common

This will remove just the grub-common package itself.

Uninstall grub-common and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove grub-common

This will remove the grub-common package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for grub-common then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge grub-common

Or similarly, like this grub-common

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove grub-common
