How To Uninstall bamtools On Parrot 3.7

To uninstall bamtools just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just bamtools

toolkit for manipulating BAM (genome alignment) files files. It copes with the enormous amount of data produced by current sequencing technologies that is typically stored in compressed, binary formats that are not easily handled by the text-based parsers commonly used in bioinformatics research.Parrot 3.7science2.4.1+dfsg-1
sudo apt-get remove bamtools

This will remove just the bamtools package itself.

Uninstall bamtools and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove bamtools

This will remove the bamtools package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for bamtools then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge bamtools

Or similarly, like this bamtools

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove bamtools
