How To Uninstall cvs On Ubuntu 12.04 LTS

To uninstall cvs just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just cvs

Concurrent Versions SystemUbuntu 12.04 LTSdevel2:1.12.13+real-8
sudo apt-get remove cvs

This will remove just the cvs package itself.

Uninstall cvs and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove cvs

This will remove the cvs package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for cvs then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge cvs

Or similarly, like this cvs

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove cvs
