How To Uninstall xserver-xorg-video-fbdev On Ubuntu 12.04 LTS

To uninstall xserver-xorg-video-fbdev just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just xserver-xorg-video-fbdev

X.Org X server — fbdev display driverUbuntu 12.04 LTSx111:0.4.2-4ubuntu2
sudo apt-get remove xserver-xorg-video-fbdev

This will remove just the xserver-xorg-video-fbdev package itself.

Uninstall xserver-xorg-video-fbdev and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove xserver-xorg-video-fbdev

This will remove the xserver-xorg-video-fbdev package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for xserver-xorg-video-fbdev then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge xserver-xorg-video-fbdev

Or similarly, like this xserver-xorg-video-fbdev

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove xserver-xorg-video-fbdev
