How To Uninstall clustalw-mpi On Ubuntu 12.04 LTS

To uninstall clustalw-mpi just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just clustalw-mpi

MPI-distributed global sequence alignment with ClustalWUbuntu 12.04 LTSmultiverse/science0.15-1
sudo apt-get remove clustalw-mpi

This will remove just the clustalw-mpi package itself.

Uninstall clustalw-mpi and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove clustalw-mpi

This will remove the clustalw-mpi package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for clustalw-mpi then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge clustalw-mpi

Or similarly, like this clustalw-mpi

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove clustalw-mpi
