How To Uninstall hwinfo On Ubuntu 12.04 LTS

To uninstall hwinfo just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just hwinfo

Hardware identification systemUbuntu 12.04 LTSuniverse/admin16.0-2.1
sudo apt-get remove hwinfo

This will remove just the hwinfo package itself.

Uninstall hwinfo and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove hwinfo

This will remove the hwinfo package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for hwinfo then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge hwinfo

Or similarly, like this hwinfo

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove hwinfo
