How To Uninstall jenkins On Ubuntu 12.04 LTS

To uninstall jenkins just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just jenkins

Continuous Integration and Job Scheduling ServerUbuntu 12.04 LTSuniverse/java1.424.6+dfsg-1
sudo apt-get remove jenkins

This will remove just the jenkins package itself.

Uninstall jenkins and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove jenkins

This will remove the jenkins package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for jenkins then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge jenkins

Or similarly, like this jenkins

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove jenkins
