How To Uninstall ncbi-rrna-data On Ubuntu 12.04 LTS

To uninstall ncbi-rrna-data just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just ncbi-rrna-data

large rRNA BLAST databases distributed with the NCBI toolkitUbuntu 12.04 LTSuniverse/science6.1.20110713-3ubuntu2
sudo apt-get remove ncbi-rrna-data

This will remove just the ncbi-rrna-data package itself.

Uninstall ncbi-rrna-data and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove ncbi-rrna-data

This will remove the ncbi-rrna-data package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for ncbi-rrna-data then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge ncbi-rrna-data

Or similarly, like this ncbi-rrna-data

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove ncbi-rrna-data
