How To Uninstall r-cran-gtools On Ubuntu 12.04 LTS

To uninstall r-cran-gtools just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just r-cran-gtools

GNU R package with R programming tools by Greg Warnes et alUbuntu 12.04 LTSuniverse/math2.6.2-1
sudo apt-get remove r-cran-gtools

This will remove just the r-cran-gtools package itself.

Uninstall r-cran-gtools and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove r-cran-gtools

This will remove the r-cran-gtools package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for r-cran-gtools then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge r-cran-gtools

Or similarly, like this r-cran-gtools

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove r-cran-gtools
