How To Uninstall wallpaper On Ubuntu 12.04 LTS

To uninstall wallpaper just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just wallpaper

Find images which can be used as wallpapersUbuntu 12.04 LTSuniverse/graphics0.1-1ubuntu1
sudo apt-get remove wallpaper

This will remove just the wallpaper package itself.

Uninstall wallpaper and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove wallpaper

This will remove the wallpaper package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for wallpaper then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge wallpaper

Or similarly, like this wallpaper

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove wallpaper
