How To Uninstall apt On Ubuntu 14.04 LTS

To uninstall apt just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just apt

commandline package managerUbuntu 14.04 LTSadmin1.0.1ubuntu2
sudo apt-get remove apt

This will remove just the apt package itself.

Uninstall apt and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove apt

This will remove the apt package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for apt then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge apt

Or similarly, like this apt

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove apt
