How To Uninstall g++ on trusty

To uninstall g++ just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just g++

GNU C++ compiler Ubuntu 14.04 LTS devel 4:4.8.2-1ubuntu6

sudo apt-get remove g++

Which will remove just the g++ package itself.

Uninstall g++ and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove g++

This will remove the g++ package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for g++ then this will work.

  Caution!   Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge g++
