How To Uninstall hardening-wrapper On Ubuntu 14.04 LTS

To uninstall hardening-wrapper just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just hardening-wrapper

Compiler wrapper to enable security hardening flagsUbuntu 14.04 LTSdevel2.5ubuntu2
sudo apt-get remove hardening-wrapper

This will remove just the hardening-wrapper package itself.

Uninstall hardening-wrapper and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove hardening-wrapper

This will remove the hardening-wrapper package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for hardening-wrapper then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge hardening-wrapper

Or similarly, like this hardening-wrapper

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove hardening-wrapper
