How To Uninstall mono-mcs On Ubuntu 14.04 LTS

To uninstall mono-mcs just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just mono-mcs

Mono C# 2.0 / 3.0 / 4.0 / 5.0 compiler for CLI 2.0 / 4.0 / 4.5Ubuntu 14.04 LTSdevel3.2.8+dfsg-4ubuntu1
sudo apt-get remove mono-mcs

This will remove just the mono-mcs package itself.

Uninstall mono-mcs and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove mono-mcs

This will remove the mono-mcs package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for mono-mcs then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge mono-mcs

Or similarly, like this mono-mcs

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove mono-mcs
