How To Uninstall xbitmaps On Ubuntu 14.04 LTS

To uninstall xbitmaps just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just xbitmaps

Base X bitmapsUbuntu 14.04 LTSx111.1.1-2
sudo apt-get remove xbitmaps

This will remove just the xbitmaps package itself.

Uninstall xbitmaps and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove xbitmaps

This will remove the xbitmaps package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for xbitmaps then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge xbitmaps

Or similarly, like this xbitmaps

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove xbitmaps
